DO NOT TAKE LIGHTLY A DOG'S THAT GROWL, EVEN IF IT IS YOUR OWN DOG!
The growl is by definition a signal that the dog uses to warn you not to approach him .
Hearing a growling dog can be a frightening experience, specialy if the dog is big, but even with yorkie, you have to take a growling dog seriously .The sound of a growl heralds the menacing possibility of sudden attack. Our first instinct – to leave the dog alone – is a good one.
But there are different qualities of growls used in different situations. Growling is one of the few forms of "verbal" communication dogs possess. Most forms of growling serve one purpose – to get someone or something to back off.

Various reasons can drive the dog to growl.
