BEFORE THE ARRIVAL OF YOUR YORKSHIRE TERRIER PUPPY AT HOME - setting the outdoor |
Unless it is winter, you will probably let your little yorkie go outside your home, in your backyard.
As your little terrier is curious, you should check your balcony and your backyard to make sure there is nothing in there that can hurt him . Be sure that there is no hole in your fence where he can be tempt to go through and visit your neighbourhood! "
|
If you want to leave your puppy run accross the garden or the yard, check very well there is no hole, even very small one, where he could escape because it is certain that he will find it and he will be very happy to explore what it is outside your backyard.
|
| Even if your little yorkies listen to you and obeys usually do not tempt the devil and seal every holes or spaces where he could go through!!
My father often sat outside, in the garden, with the puppies. They love to run and play in the grass.
I told him to be careful because at this age, the puppies were small enough to fit through the fence hole and god knows they're going so fast these little yorkie puppies when they run! They are impossible to catch up. But he did not listen to me.....
AND GUESS WHAT HAPPENED ONE DAY?

My little teacup puppy named Mia decided that she want to pay a visit to the neighbor!
We were very lucky that she was in her yard and she was able to catch up the little yorkie puppy mia running so fast! My little female yorkshire Mia could have been very far away in only minutes!

I tell you that that day my little Mia make my father sweat a lot and from that time, he was watching more carefully the little puppies when he was outside with them!
|
| If you have a balcony, remember to put, planks, netting or mesh to properly fill the holes where your little puppy can fall .

At first, when my mother in law had her beautiful little yorkie puppy named Nikki, she let him simply walk freely on the balcony ( normal balconny with railing). She was certain he could not fall. It is true...hhe never fell .... but you'll never guess what he did?
When he saw a squirrel crossing the garden, he literally jump off the balcony to try to catch it!! A real yorkshire terrier!!! that is in their blood...afraid of nothing and real hunter!
Fortunately he land on the grass.... otherwise he could have been really hurt. So please, follow my advice and do not take any chances with your Yorkie if he can have access to your balcony!/em>
