Reward Dog Training - Positive Reinforcement dog training techniques
THE goal of REINFORCEMENT is to make our pet repeat a good behavior.
|
POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT +
One of the most enjoyable methods is reward training. This is a strategy that positively reinforces the training. The method involves giving commands to your dog which are followed by rewards for the ones well followed.
Most dogs are highly motivated by food rewards, and treat training using this kind of positive reinforcement is used to train all sorts of animals.
Positive reinforcement for dogs is apply when we want our dog to repeat a good behavior, every time he did a good thing we give him a treat or a Click! ( the clicker method is One of the popular examples of reward training techniques : when a dog under training performs an act as commanded by a trainer/owner, a clicker sound is produced acknowledging the action.)
It sounds unbelievable that a dog can acknowledge rewards, but this is a reality that anyone training a dog must be aware of.
This training method is very pleasant for the master and his dog.
ex: we give a treat or a stroke to the dog when it executes a given command.
>>> >>>Personnaly, I think the training based on reward is the best technique to use to train
whether a puppy or a fully growned adult yorkshire terrier or other breed dog.
The rewards make the training more interesting and very fun for the master and his dog.
IMPORTANCE OF THE TONE OF YOUR VOICE
The dog is a very sociable and very responsive pet. It is able to understand how we feel just by earing the tone of our voice.Dogs are alsoo more receptive to high-pitched voice, because deep low voice remind them the growl of their mother growls when they were puppies!

Find a treat that your dog likes. This treat will be reserved exclusively for training. He will get this treat only when he execute an order right and / or when he behaves well.
It is preferable to schedule the training sessions when they are hungry but still not too hungry( we dont want them to have too much trouble concentrating!)
Never give a treat larger that a tiny pea .... the smallest possible ... is the best .... you can make him do more things with the same amount of treats.

Natural Treats to give your dog::
Small pieces of dried cooked liver (no1)
( Cook of the liver, then cut into small pieces and dried it in the oven)
Small pieces of cheese
Small pieces of carot
Small bites of their own food (if they are as greedy as my dogs)
To prevent your dog from gaining weight be sure to reduce his daily intake of regular food depending on what you have give him in your training session!

Treats and other rewards for dogs.
In this category have found the little "candy" that we give our dogs to signify our approval. But there is other thing that can play the role of a reward for our dog: hugs, strokes, compliments, words, soft toys, clicker sound, are also part of that reward your dog will enjoy very much!
