POSITIVE PUNISHMENT +
Here we add a punishment, something that our dog does not like to stop or decrease a given canine behavior.
The punishment is called positive when the response involves the appearance of a stimulus when the dog tries to escape: it is an event really unpleasant and uncomfortable for the dog.
In general, this training method is not appreciated by the dog. Some dogs even develop stress and anxiety at the sight of the object in question but will continue to have bad behavior when the punishment is not there.
ex: Use anti-barking collar to correct your dog that barks incessantly.
Here is a summary of the main types of positive punishment:
primary aversive stimuli
aversive stimuli can be classified as:
non-painful: pepper, chilli, citronella oil, vinegar and water spray, ...
painful violent traction on the lead, shot rolled newspaper, choker, a lightning flash, intense sound of a siren, ear pinch, electric shock ...
It is interesting in this regard, to emphasize that the olfactory and auditory stimuli such as citronella spray collars designed to prevent dogs from barking (Aboistop®, Master Plus®) is not a punishment.
It is a disruptive stimulus, that is to say an unusual stimulus, which by its appearance, blocks the progress of ongoing behavioral sequence and directs it to a short sequence exploratory. Some authors recommend to lay next to the dog a Newsletter Subscribing metal containing small pebbles. As unexpected noise that follows usually causes the shutdown of the dog or movement direction, this method may be useful for some time.
There is also a disruptive stimulus.
Painful stimuli should be used very sparingly! Aversive stimuli aversive stimuli secondary school are better and more convenient to use: it is the reprimands as "No! "...
IMPORTANCE OF THE TONE OF YOUR VOICE
The dog is a very sociable and very responsive pets. It is able to understand how we feel when they hear the first tone of our voice. It is also more receptive to see more acute, serious voice reminding them of their mother growls when she was reprimanding him!
